Thrift and antique store finds

Over the past month, I’ve hit a few thrift and antique stores. I hadn’t had a successful trip in a while, but recently I had a rash of extremely satisfying finds.

I found many cuts of vintage fabrics.

I came across several different cute retro housewares.

I also spotted Christmas gifts for several of my sisters. Since they won’t be receiving them until I go to California in a week, I can’t post pictures here.

One of my sister-in-laws received the vintage train case below for Christmas. I thought of her immediately when I spotted it in an antique store.

Alex’s Christmas present was a set of vintage glasses and a mixing pitcher that I found at a flea market.

I’m also getting him a vintage bar cabinet for his loft office at the shop. I’ve been searching for one for months, but haven’t found the right one yet. It has to be perfect for him.

Occasionally, I browse the cute but overpriced offerings at a vintage consignment shop in a nearby town. I usually leave empty-handed, but last month I found this cute ’50s/’60s shirt.

It was reasonably priced, but still more than I’m usually willing to pay. However, it begged to come home with me. It even has a zipper up the side for a perfect fit, which is rare with modern shirts.

Anyway, those thrift store/antique store/flea market finds made me excited about thrifting again. I’m looking forward to a year full of treasure hunts. 😉

P.S. I promise there are sewing posts in the works for next week!

Those stackable coffee cups are adorable! And, that train case you found for you SIL is a beaut! I never am lucky enough to find fabric and/or yarn at thrift stores, I’m jealous!

It is a rarity that I find such things in thrift and antique stores in my area, too. But once in a while I strike gold.

[…] my stash for years. I saved it for four and a half years, to be exact. I found the fabric on this thrift haul. I still can’t believe I finally allowed myself to use it. Looking back at that thrift haul […]
