Spring watercolor dolman shirt

This was a quick and easy project. I made it a couple of weeks ago from a self-drafted pattern.

It may seem short, but that’s the length I wanted it. I plan to wear it mostly with skirts and high-waist shorts.

The sleeves and the body of the shirt are one piece, so there are only two main pattern pieces (front and back). The bottom band and the neck band are rectangles, cut slightly smaller than their corresponding openings on the shirt.

The material that I used for the top is a comfy lightweight sweater material.

The inside has a sumptuous softness to it.

I don’t remember where or when I acquired this material, but there’s quite a bit left. I had thought about making a dress in a similar shape to this top, but I convinced myself to make a top first so that I could ensure a proper fit. Now, I think I’m going to make a dress from this same material.

You should definitely make a dress with this material, it’s just gorgeous (as is your top)! I’m actually knitting something recently, with very similar looking yarn…the colours and the flecks are almost identical to your jersey fabric!

Hey Becca! That top is great! I’m glad you had so much fabric to make it and now a dress in the works too! Hope you’re doing well! 🙂
