Purple Chevron Renfrew

For my first day of Me-Made-May yesterday, I wore another recently completed Renfrew.

It was a Sewaholic pattern day, apparently, because I paired my Renfrew with my Thurlow trousers. My Thurlow trousers which no longer fit right. 🙁 I hadn’t worn them in a few months, and now I found out they fit really weird.

Ahh! What the what...is going on with my pants?!

They used to have a pretty tight fit, but now they’re wrinkling and sagging. I am happy that I’ve apparently lost more weight than I realized on my bottom half. However, after looking at the pictures, I’m a bit embarrassed that I was out in public in these pants. Oh well! 🙂

IMG_6876Anyway, back to the new Renfrew top. I’ve had this vintage, light purple knit in my stash for a long time. I think I acquired it at a yard sale a couple years ago. It has a cute, raised Chevron pattern.

I cut the same size as my first Renfrew (4 at the bust and hips, curving to a 0 at the waist). However, the fit is much more snug than the first top because this knit has a lot less stretch than I realized.

Don’t ask…I must’ve heard a buzzing sound somewhere and looked up to make sure there wasn’t a mutant bumblebee heading my way.

It stretched out a bit, but when I first put it on there was an ever-so-slight boob squishage happening.

The sleeves are a teensy bit snug, but nothing restrictive or uncomfortable.

Yipee, for another casual top!

*I’m giving away a few sewing patterns and dresses. If you’re interested, please see this post for the details.*

Thank you so much! It’s always been one of my favorite fabrics in my stash. I’m glad I finally used it.

Cute fabric – fit looks great from where I’m sitting!

Thanks! I don’t why it took me so long to use that fabric.

Cute! I love the fabric! And the trousers don’t look bad– I think most people’s RTW pants rarely fit that well!

Thanks, lady! I guess I’m just being extra picky. You know how we can be with our makes.
