This is just a quick report on a race that I ran yesterday.
The race was in support of a local high school’s cross-country and math teams. The race was larger than I thought it would be. It seemed like there were about 150 runners.
The course was 3.14 miles long, through trails and around parts of the high school.
It was much hillier than I had anticipated, and the course had several sets of steps like the one in the pictures below. The incline was much steeper than it looks in the first photo below.
At the end of the race, the top three from each age group won a pie. I believe I came in fourth in the 20-29 age group, because the gal who won third was crossing the finish line just as I approached it. I finished the 3.14 mile race at just under 32:00 minutes, so I ran the course at about a 10 min/mile. Not super, but not terrible.
Of course, I wore green. It was St. Patrick’s Day, after all.
In keeping with my tradition, I wore a partial french braid ponytail (I was too lazy to do a french braid).
What have you been up to this weekend?
