It’s time to summarize the second week of Me-Made-May. If you’re interested, you can follow on Instagram or Flickr to see daily outfit posts for this month. It was rainy almost every day this week. Boo! Luckily, I still managed to take some pictures every day.
I’m going to start giving the details (when I can)–if anyone’s interested–of every aspect of my outfit. Anyway, here ‘s a look at the last week!
Dress: Self-drafted dress in a lacy knit with a neck tie and button front
Shoes: I know you can’t see them, but I wore a pair of little white slip-on shoes
Shirt: 40’s floral blouse
Shoes: Modesta, from ModCloth
Shirt: Polka dot Renfrew
Shoes: No idea. I’ve had them for a few years. I’m sure I got them on Clearance somewhere.
Umbrella: Sorry, don’t know
OK. So, I was incredibly lazy with my outfits this week; I wore jeans too much. I think it had something to do with the weather. I suppose I need to make myself a pair of jeans, because I wore my jeans three times this week.
When I came home in the evening it was raining again, so you get another umbrella shot. 🙂
Dress: Swirl of Sunshine Dress
Shoes: I know you can’t see them, but I wore black flats
Necklace: from ModCloth
Shirt: floral pintuck bib knit top
Cardigan: thrifted. I don’t know if you can tell, but there are little orange flowers in the shirt’s floral print, and they match the cardigan perfectly. 🙂
Jeans: Loft (These are really the only pair of non-house-and-yard-work jeans I have right now.)
I did do something interesting with my hair, at least. I french braided my hair the night before, meaning the ends of the braids looked bedraggled. So, I just rolled them up into little buns. Here are some crummy cell phone shots. Sorry, that’s the best I have for ya.
Dress: Low-back knit dress
Belt: thrifted (I finally found a brown braided belt that fits without a long tail to tuck in :D)
Boots: I can’t remember if I thrifted these or bought them on clearance somewhere. I’ve had them for several years, and I lurv them! They’re so perfectly worn in now.
Yesterday, Alex and I went to a movie and enjoyed some delicious BBQ.
Shoes: same as 5/6
While we were out yesterday, I somehow managed to convinced my husband to stop at my favorite thrift store. He agreed, as long as I promised to run in and out at supersonic speed. When I’m short on time, I have one section that I make a beeline for, and I couldn’t believe all the vintage fabrics they had this time.
I am so glad that I persuaded him to drop me off for a quick perusal. This thrift store doesn’t always have fabric, but finds like this are the reason I continue check every few weeks. They had more, but I didn’t have time to search through them all. So, I may have to go back there next week. 🙂
*Reminder: I’m giving away a couple dresses and a few patterns. Please see this post for details.*
