Dressing Properly for the Day
I have been wearing raggedy clothes nonstop for the past few weeks.
It’s not that I don’t want to dress nicely; I don’t want to destroy any of my clothes. I find it necessary to dress in a way that allows me to move comfortably and unrestricted. As you know, we’ve been doing a lot of dirty work in and on the house.
Do you know what I’ve discovered? It really dampens my spirit when I don’t get “dressed up”—or at least dressed normally—at some point during the week. I’m trying to set aside a time each week to get dressed up in one of my dresses and go out to run errands.
Usually on Sundays, I dress up a bit for church. Last Sunday, we had to run errands and we planned on working out at the house for a while. So, I just brought a change of clothes with me.
I still do my make-up every day, but I’ve been throwing my hair up in a simple ponytail. Does anybody have any suggestions for ways to dress up a basic ponytail? It must be a hairstyle that will stay in place while I’m working, and is very quick to do. Even though I’ll still be dressed in work clothes, at least part of me will look “put together.”
Hmm…this makes me want to write a blog post about some quick and easy hairstyles. Perhaps in the next few days.
I know that some feel you must dress your best every day, no matter what the day holds. My feeling is that it’s silly and inappropriate to dress up to do the type of work we’re doing each day. How do you feel about dressing for the task/day ahead?
