Floral Pintuck Yoke Knit Shirt
I’ve been working on getting more me-made casual tops into my wardrobe in preparation for Me-Made-May. So, I finished this fun and comfy top this weekend.
I’m happy to report that I’m really making progress on my UFO pile lately. This is another item that I cut out last year but left unfinished. I drafted the pattern around the same time as my lace yoke sweetheart and dolman tops. It was as simple as cutting a yoke out of my basic shirt pattern and slashing and separating to create the pintucks. Continue reading

Looking Forward to 2013
Can you believe it’s 2013? 2012 went by so fast. I was going to jump on the sewing blogger bandwagon and post a recap of my 2012 projects, but I figured if anyone is interested they can just look through the 2012 archives.
I didn’t post any goals for 2012, but I did in 2011. I looked back at those and was happy to find that I’d worked on most of them over the past two years. Many of the items on that list are ongoing goals that remain on my list for 2013. And since making lists is one of my favorite things to do, I’ve made a short list for 2013. It really helps me to enumerate my goals for the year. Displaying them publicly means that I’ll be more likely to strive for them. Continue reading

To the dump and back again, and again, and again
I haven’t posted an update about our home renovation in a LONG time, but Alex and I have been working on the house quite a but lately. We’ve been doing lots of demolition, and we’re getting very excited about seeing our vision come to life. We have set a goal to finish a large portion of the inside of the house before the warmth of spring arrives. That way we can focus on the outside of the house in the spring…
Destroying that old, nasty, moldy kitchen was invigorating!
We found another gem of a message left for us from the teenage girl who used to live here… Continue reading

The joys and pains of the end of 2011
I’m back! Since I’ve been away for many months, I am essentially re-launching my blog. It will take a long post to recap the events of the past few months, but it would seem strange not to share them. For those who are interested, the following is a summation of the events in my life since September. Continue reading
